The Healing Power of Eurythmy

In „The Healing Power of Eurythmy“ Truus Geraets shares with us her 45 years of experience, working with Eurythmy and Therapeutic Eurythmy on three continents with very diverse groups of people, among them those „in need of special care“. Chapter 6 is dedicated only to the latter group. Geraets was director of „Columban“ at the Lake of Constance, a home for „time-damaged“ as well as for „mentally challenged“ children. She also tells about her Eurythmy activities in America with juvenile delinquents and prisoners, as well as with underprivileged „black“ inner city children. Her style is heartwarming and also accessible for lay people, like parents and grandparents.

Geraets’ 26 drawings in color for each letter of the alphabet, experienced as a breathing communication between centre and periphery, are important tools in the work in the class room, but also as a recommendation for color therapy.
